Every Oil Change Interval
The first thing you’ll need to keep an eye on is your need for a regular oil change. This will be indicated by the Oil Change Indicator System that appears on the driver’s information display above your steering wheel.
When you see this message, however, an oil change isn’t the only service your Dodge Challenger will need. The full list of services you’ll need includes:
- Change oil & filter
- Rotate tires
- Inspect battery & clean and tighten terminals
- Inspect the cv/universal joints
- Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, hoses, & parking brake
- Inspect engine cooling system & exhaust system
- Inspect engine air cleaner filter
If you see the oil change reminder on your digital information display, just stop by our service center and our team of technicians will take care of the rest!
Every 20,000 Miles
Once you’ve driven 20,000 miles in your Dodge Challenger, you’ll need another set of maintenance services. Some of these will overlap with the services of the oil change interval, such as inspecting the CV/Universal joints, which will need to be repeated every 20,000 miles.
At this time, you’ll also need to inspect several other key systems, including the front suspension, rear axle fluid, manual transmission fluid, and brake linings. Your parking brake will also need to be adjusted.
Every 30,000 Miles
After another 10,000 miles, you’ll only have a few services to take care of. First, you’ll need to have your transfer case inspected. However, this is only applicable if your Dodge Challenger model has all-wheel drive. You’ll also need to have your engine air cleaner filter replaced at this time.
Every 50,000 Miles
Once you’ve gone another 20,000 miles, you’ll need just two additional maintenance services. You’ll first need to change the manual transmission fluid, especially if you frequently drive at sustained speeds during hot weather, dusty conditions, or stop-and-go situations.
You’ll also need to have the rear axle fluid changed, especially if your Challenger model is equipped with all-wheel drive.
Every 100,000 Miles
Now that you’re all the way at 100,000 miles in your Dodge Challenger, you’ll need to have your engine coolant both flushed and replaced. This service likely won’t happen until 10 years of owning your Challenger.
At this interval, you’ll also need to replace your spark plugs and change your manual transmission fluid again.
Finally, you’ll need to, once again, have your rear axle fluid changed. Additionally, you need to have the PCV Valve of your vehicle inspected and replaced.
